Japan – Fourth anniversary of the Fukushima disaster (March 11, 2015)

On the fourth anniversary of the terrible disaster in Japan on March 11, 2011, France remembers those who perished during this tragedy.

As we did so on March 11, 2011, by mobilizing emergency assistance, we express our solidarity with all of the families that were affected.

On the eve of Mr. Laurent Fabius’s fifth visit to the region, France stands, more than ever, shoulder to shoulder with Japan, a country that is a friend and partner.

Suriname – Abolition of the death penalty (March 3, 2015)

France welcomes the adoption on March 3 by the Parliament of Suriname of the new Criminal Code abolishing the death penalty.

Suriname therefore becomes the 102nd totally abolitionist country.

France reaffirms its resolute and constant opposition to the death penalty everywhere and under all circumstances, and encourages all countries to make progress toward abolition.
