On 10 February, the European Union pledged to deploy a military operation in support of the international efforts to stabilize the CAR.
As things stand today, in spite of the contributions announced by a few European states, we have to face the fact that it does not amount to enough. If no extra effort is made very quickly, it will not be possible to launch this essential operation next week as planned.
The European Union must shoulder its international security responsibilities. France strongly urges its partners to give themselves the means to do so./.
