Exclusive screening of La Glace et le Ciel by Luc Jacquet

Published on October 13, 2015

The Embassy of France in the United States is proud to present, on October 22, La Glace et le Ciel (Ice and Sky) by Luc Jacquet, during the same week as its official release in France.

This eco-documentary was selected as the closing piece of the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. La Glace et le Ciel tells the incredible story of glaciologist Claude Lorius, who was the first scientist to demonstrate the impact of human activity on our climate, through his study of Antarctic ice.

Lorius discovered a close link between the increased concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and climate change. He is a member of the prestigious Academy of Sciences in France, and in 2002 he was awarded France’s National Center for Scientific Research CNRS Gold Medal for his work on global warming.

On Thursday, October 22 at 7 PM at the Maison française. The film will be screened in French with English subtitles. Free event. Registration required here.
