Celebrate European friendship with France and Germany
To celebrate Europe Day, each of the European Union’s 28 Member States and the EU Delegation will open their embassy or residence to the general public on Saturday, May 14 from 10 am to 4pm.
The French Embassy is proud to participate in this event, and will team up once again with the German Embassy, inviting the public to travel to these two countries at the heart of Europe without leaving the nation’s capital.
The event will take place at the German Embassy in Washington, and both the Embassy grounds and the Ambassador’s residence will be open to the public. Germany and France will pay tribute to their friendship and present the best of their countries. The visitors will discover the food, culture and diplomatic life of these two nations at the heart of Europe with just a single stop at 4645 Reservoir Road.
In honor of the EURO 2016 soccer tournament, this year’s open house will also celebrate the beloved European sport of "football."
Street parking is limited and we recommend that visitors use the free EU Open House shuttle buses organized by the EU Delegation.
The Ambassador’s Residence is handicapped accessible, but due to steep stairs, the main Embassy grounds are not. There is a separate handicapped entrance on Reservoir Road, near the intersection with Foxhall Rd.
