We were saddened to learn of the traffic accident that occurred on August 10 in northern Morocco, which killed 16 royal guards and injured some 40 others.
We offer our sympathies to the victims’ families and wish those who were injured a swift recovery.

Recent weeks have seen a particularly troubling upsurge in violence on Iraqi soil. France offers its sympathies to the victims’ families. It reiterates its support for the Iraqi authorities in their fight against terrorism.
It is the responsibility of all Iraqi political and community actors to work together to bring an end to this cycle of violence. France urges them to engage in a more inclusive political process with all of Iraq’s communities.
