Egypt

France condemns the acts of violence that have killed several dozen people over the last three days. It extends its condolences to the victims’ families.

We call for respect for the freedom of assembly and the freedom to demonstrate and reaffirm the responsibility to exercise this right peacefully.

France reaffirms its support for an inclusive democratic process that is open to all political movements that reject violence, with a view toward establishing democratically elected civilian institutions in Egypt in accordance with the timetable set out by the road map.

 

Iraq

France condemns the deadly attacks that have killed more than a hundred people in the last two days in Iraq and extends its condolences to the victims’ families.

As Mr. Nickolay Mladenov, UN Special Representative for Iraq, reaffirmed, it’s up to all Iraqi political and community stakeholders to work together with the security forces to put an end to this cycle of violence.
