Cultural network update – Photographic Cross-Vision Festival in Mexico (April 2014 to April 2015)

The “Mano a Mano, France-Mexico Photographic Cross-Vision” festival, which will be held in Mexico City and 5 other Mexican cities until April 2015, will feature 19 exhibitions and almost 500 photographic works from around 20 well-known French and Mexican artists.

The festival, which was inaugurated by the “Robert Doisneau, the beauty of the everyday” exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts in Mexico City, is a cultural cooperation project coordinated by the Embassy of France in Mexico and the Institut français of Latin America (IFAL), the National Council for Culture and the Arts of Mexico and public and private institutions on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of President Charles de Gaulle to Mexico City and the 70th anniversary of IFAL.

Conferences will also take place, as well as a forum on teaching art photography. Two exhibitions will focus more specifically on the new generations of Mexican photographers featured in the collection from the Centre de l'Image and the École nationale supérieure in Arles.

Can you provide a comment about the new sanctions against Russia?

Due to the lack of concrete measures to implement the Geneva declaration on the ground, the EU decided yesterday to extend the list of persons subject to asset freezes and visa bans.

This list was published today in the Official Journal of the European Union.

The sanctions are not an end in themselves. Our goal is to de-escalate the situation, ensure that the presidential election takes place on May 25 under the best possible conditions, and move toward constitutional reform that will respect the rights of minorities.
