Annick Girardin, Minister of State for Development and Francophony, yesterday represented France in London at the Global Summit to end Sexual Violence in Conflict. On this occasion, she met with the ministers and key figures who support Britain’s Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative.

She also participated in the ministerial follow-up meeting to the Paris Summit for Security in Nigeria, during which she held meetings with the foreign affairs ministers of Chad and Cameroon, as well as with the U.S. under secretary of state for civilian security, democracy and human rights.

The follow-up meeting helped to continue mobilization to improve operational coordination on the ground between the countries in the region, within the framework of the Lake Chad Basin Commission.

France provides significant support, particularly in the areas of intelligence and coordination, to the various actors involved in the fight against terrorism.
