European Union – Start of the Italian presidency of the Council of the European Union (July 1, 2014)

France wishes Italy every success in its 12th presidency of the Council of the European Union.

It assures Italy of its full support in pursuing our common priorities: growth and employment, support for the real economy, combating youth unemployment, deepening the economic and monetary union and strengthening the EU’s external action.

France takes this opportunity to thank Greece following its 5
th presidency of the Council of the European Union, which was marked by major successes, notably including the establishment of a Single Resolution Mechanism for banks, an agreement with the European Parliament on the directive on the posting of workers and the deployment of the EUFOR RCA mission to the Central African Republic.
