News from the Cultural Network - Helsinki Festival (Aug. 15 - 31)

The Institut français de Finlande is once again a partner in the Helsinki Festival running from Aug. 15 through 31.

Created in 1968, the Helsinki Festival is the largest cultural event in the Nordic countries. Each year it draws more than 200,000 visitors and features an artistic program of nearly 1,000 events, giving an important place to French and European artists.

This year’s program includes a number of very high-caliber French-Finnish coproductions that testify to the wealth and diversity of our exchanges with Finland: “Cirque Aïtal: For better, for worse,” a collaborative performance by the Finnish-French team of Kati Pikkarainen and Victor Cathala; “Raksa,” a project by French artist Olivier Grossetête; and a concert featuring French singer Cyrille Aimée with the Finnish jazz group Jukka Eskola Orquesta Bossa.

The full program is posted on www.helsinginjuhlaviikot.fi/en/.
