Turkey – Bilateral ministerial consultations (Paris, October 10, 2014)

Mr. Laurent Fabius will tomorrow receive his Turkish counterpart, Mr. Mevlut Cavusoglu. This will be the first meeting within the new framework of our strategic cooperation, adopted in January on the occasion of President Hollande’s state visit to Turkey.

The two ministers will discuss key regional issues, including the situation in Iraq and Syria. These consultations will also make it possible to continue developing our cooperation in all areas. The ministers will sign a joint action plan, which will serve as the road map for the period 2014-2016.

Mr. Fabius and Mr. Cavusoglu will meet a delegation of French business leaders, in the presence of Mr. Matthias Fekl, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, the Promotion of Tourism and French Nationals Abroad, to discuss the strengthening of our economic cooperation and investment prospects in Turkey and France.

Following the meeting, the two ministers will make a statement to the press at 2:15 pm.

Yemen – Attack (October 9, 2014)

France condemns the attack that took place this morning in Tahrir Square in Sana which killed a large number of people, including children.

We extend our condolences to the victims’ families and the Yemeni people.

The only way to ease tensions and resolve the crisis is through the rejection of violence and dialogue between all parties, based on the peace agreement of September 21.
