Tourism - Tourism Promotion Council meeting devoted to gastronomy and oenology (Paris, October 22, 2014)

Mr. Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, yesterday met with the members of the Tourism Promotion Council. The second meeting of the council, which was established on September 3, provided an opportunity to discuss 20 proposals relating to gastronomy and oenology for the period until 2020. The measures, which were presented by Philippe Faure, Chairman of the Council and rapporteurs Guy Savoy and Alain Ducasse, aim to enhance awareness of our gastronomy and our wines on the international scene.

Mr. Laurent Fabius announced an initiative to offer internships to foreigners in the kitchens of French chefs, so that they can become ambassadors of French gastronomy around the world.

On this occasion he launched, together with the partner chefs, operation “Good France”: 1000 chefs will serve a “French-style dinner” on March 19, 2015, on all five continents.
