Colombia –Visit by Annick Girardin (October 8 to 9, 2015)

Annick Girardin, Minister of State for Development and Francophony will visit Colombia from October 8 to 9.

During the visit, she will work with Patti Londoño Jaramillo, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, on strengthening our bilateral relations.

Annick Girardin will inaugurate the new French lycée in Medellin, in the presence of Sergio Coronado, an elected official who represents French nationals abroad. This is the fourth French lycée in Colombia, following those in Bogotá, Cali and Pereira. The network of French schools in Colombia serves nearly 4,000 students.

Lastly, Annick Girardin will participate in an event hosted by the “Rugby French Flair” association, an organization which aims to popularize and promote rugby among vulnerable populations.

Chad – Terrorist attack (October 6, 2015)

France condemns the attack perpetrated on October 6 in the Lake Chad region against a position held by the Chadian armed forces, which left 11 people dead and 13 injured.

We extend our condolences to the victims’ families and to the Chadian authorities.

France assures Chad of its solidarity in the fight against terrorism.
