Fight against Daesh – Statement by Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development

Cooperation between everyone against Daesh [so-called ISIL] is our main objective. It's the purpose of the diplomatic efforts made since the Paris attacks.

Cooperation between all the Syrian forces, including the Syrian army, against Daesh is clearly desirable but, as I've said consistently, it can be considered only in the framework of a credible political transition. That's the objective we're resolutely pursuing.

COP21 – Participation of Laurent Fabius and Harlem Désir in the 11th Conference of Youth (Villepinte - November 27-28, 2015)

Laurent Fabius will attend the 11th Conference of Youth tomorrow at the Parc des Expositions de Villepinte.

Minister of State for European Affairs Harlem Désir will speak today at a workshop organized by the European Youth Parliament on the role of the EU in climate talks. Young people will present their work on sustainable development and Europe's role in the fight against climate disruption at this workshop. Mr. Désir will reaffirm the EU's vital role in the success of the Paris Conference.

Some 5,000 young people are expected to attend this edition, running from November 26 to 28. The European Youth Parliament, present in 36 European countries, partners with the youth conferences traditionally held on the eve of Conferences of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
