Colombia – Meeting between Laurent Fabius and Sergio Jaramillo, High Commissioner for Peace (Paris - December 21, 2015)

Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, met yesterday with Sergio Jaramillo, High Commissioner for Peace, responsible for peace negotiations with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). They took stock of the peace process in Colombia and the support notably provided by the French Development Agency. Laurent Fabius welcomed the agreement adopted on December 15 in Havana on justice and reparations for the victims and called for the swift signing of the comprehensive peace agreement. He confirmed France's readiness to continue to support the peace process, at the bilateral level as well as within the European Union and the United Nations.

Afghanistan – Attack (December 21, 2015)

France condemns yesterday's attack targeted against a joint NATO-Afghan patrol near the U.S. Bagram Air Base, which killed six U.S. soldiers and injured two others in addition to an Afghan police officer. We extend our condolences to the victims' family and friends. France reaffirms its support for the expression of willingness to resume inter-Afghan dialogue.
