Climate – Denmark – Mr. Laurent Fabius’s visit to Greenland and Copenhagen (March 23 to 24, 2015)

Mr. Laurent Fabius will visit Greenland from March 23 to 24, at the invitation of his Danish counterpart, Mr. Martin Lidegaard, and the local authorities. This island is a symbolic site in the fight against climate disruption, the consequences of which are especially visible in the Arctic.

In the run-up to the 2015 Paris Climate Conference, Mr. Laurent Fabius will notably work on strengthening our cooperation with Denmark with respect to the fight against climate disruption and will take stock of the French presence in the Arctic. He will discuss key international issues with his counterpart.

The minister of foreign affairs and international development will make a stop in Copenhagen, where he will meet with Mr. Rasmus Helveg Petersen, Danish Minister of Climate, as well as with political and economic leaders and scientists.

European Union – Participation for the first time by France in the "Back-to-School" program (April 17 to June 7, 2015)

On the initiative of Mr. Harlem Désir, Minister of State for European Affairs, France will participate this year for the first time in the "Back-to-School" program created by the European Commission in 2007.

French officials from the European institutions were invited to meet with the students of the French schools that they themselves attended. Within a week, 180 of them agreed to come and talk, in a meaningful way, about Europe to young people and to talk about the European integration project as seen from the inside.

With the full agreement of the Ministry of National Education, this program will take place from April 27 to June 7, 2015, and will therefore contribute to the organization of Europe Month in France.

Yemen – Attacks (March 20, 2015)

We stand alongside Yemen in its fight against terrorism.

France reaffirms its support for the efforts of Special Advisor to the UN Secretary-General on Yemen Jamal Benomar to find a political solution to the crisis in this country.
