Development / Expertise France – Visit by Annick Girardin (Paris - January 20, 2016)

A year after its creation, Annick Girardin will visit, on January 20, the new premises of Expertise France, the French international technical expertise agency that has arisen from the merger of several operators with the framework of efforts to modernize public action.

She will present France's development policy priorities for 2016, including the monitoring of the Paris climate agreement and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals adopted in New York in September 2015.

In 2015, the agency notably took action with respect to the fight against Ebola, the issue of refugees and the fight against climate disruption.



Economic diplomacy – Visit by Matthias Fekl to Bahrain (January 21, 2016)

Matthias Fekl, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, the Promotion of Tourism and French Nationals Abroad, will visit Bahrain on January 21 for the air show in Manama, accompanied by some 30 French companies, including a dozen SMEs and intermediate-sized companies.

He will hold meetings with Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Transportation, as well as with Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf, Minister of Infrastructure. He will also launch the work of the French-Bahraini working group on infrastructure.

On this occasion, Matthias Fekl will meet with the French community at the French residence in Manama.



Peru – Accident (January 19, 2016)

We were saddened to learn of the bus accident in the central Peruvian region of Junín, which left many dead and several injured.

In these tragic circumstances, France offers its condolences to the victims' families and assures the Peruvian people and authorities of its solidarity.
