Jean-Marc Ayrault, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, will visit Chengdu, Beijing and Shanghai from October 29 to November 1.

High-level meetings with the Chinese authorities are scheduled to take place in order to take stock of our bilateral relations.

In Chengdu, Jean-Marc Ayrault will open the 5th French-Chinese Conference on Decentralized Cooperation, which will provide an opportunity to strengthen the ties between our territories and to promote France's appeal, notably for Chinese investment and tourism. So far, more than 100 French and Chinese local authorities are involved in implementing almost 132 projects focusing on academic, cultural and economic exchanges and sustainable development.

In Shanghai, Jean-Marc Ayrault will notably meet with local authorities, French business leaders and the French community.

International relations – Report on French think tanks (Paris - October 27, 2016)

At Jean-Marc Ayrault’s request, Yves Saint-Geours, Ambassador of France to Spain, conducted a review of the situation of French think tanks specializing in the field of foreign policy and the conditions necessary for their development.

This report, which was submitted on October 27, took stock of the situation and recommended a series of measures to enhance the work of French think tanks and analysts and in particular to facilitate the mobility of young researchers.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development is fully committed to supporting the development of think tanks and French research in the field of international relations.
