France reaffirms its support for the efforts of the National Episcopal Conference of Congo (CENCO) to reach an agreement that will allow elections to take place as swiftly as possible, in accordance with the constitution.

We encourage the parties to take the necessary measures in the best interests of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Congolese people. The international community must lend its support to this national process led by the Congolese people.

France remains vigilant, while the violations of human rights and civil liberties continue to take place.
