France congratulates Miroslav Lajcak, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia, on his election as president of the 72nd session of the General Assembly, which opens on September 12.

We look forward to working closely with Miroslav Lajcak on all issues addressed by the General Assembly, especially migration, the protection of human rights, the Sustainable Development Goals and the fight against climate disruption through the monitoring of the Paris Agreement.

Algeria – Attack against a police checkpoint in Larbaa (Blida) (June 1, 2017)

France condemns the terrorist attack against a police checkpoint in Larbaa.

France assures Algeria of its solidarity in the fight against terrorism.

Romania – Support for children

In order to pay tribute to childhood and support French and Romanian organizations working in this area, the Romanian singer Keo and François Saint-Paul, Ambassador of France to Romania as well as a composer and pianist, joined forces to compose a song entitled "Soarele pe cer" ("The sun in the sky").

Profits from the release of the track (https://youtu.be/gKeFYd6xsfM) will go back to the Valentina association, which is committed to helping children and families from disadvantaged backgrounds.
