Tourism – First General Assembly of the High-Level Tourism Training Conference (Paris - March 6, 2018)

On March 6, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, minister of state attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, hosted the first General Assembly of the High-Level Tourism Training Conference (CFET) at the Quai d'Orsay.

The creation of the CFET responds to a need among tourism professionals and training programs. It will boost the compatibility between the subjects offered by the best training programs and shifts in the needs and abilities of travel companies, hotels and fine dining establishments. In France and abroad, it will help expand these training programs to attract foreign talent. The CFET also aims to be a laboratory of ideas offering new ways of thinking about sales in the tourism and hotel industries and fine dining establishments, in an unwavering pursuit of excellence.

The CFET has 43 members, reflecting the diversity of tourism professionals. In addition to ministers for Europe and foreign affairs, economy and finance, education and higher learning, and research and innovation, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Paris-Ile de-France Region, the Atout France tourism operator and the Institut Français du Tourisme are part of the advisory board that carried out preparatory work for the association. The CFET also includes 15 establishments of higher learning in the tourism, hotel and fine dining sectors, and destination management offering 24 training programs selected on the basis of criteria of excellence, as well as eight French travel companies and 14 professional federations and institutional tourism bodies.

The board of directors elected by the general assembly will be chaired by Georges Rudas, CEO of Amadeus France.

Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne assured the president and members of the General Assembly of the support of the diplomatic network, Atout France and Campus France in promoting this new association, especially by supporting the attractiveness of training programs for students and foreign professionals.
