Israel – Palestinian Territories
France condemns the attack that killed an Israeli citizen on Saturday, September 15 near Gush Etzion in the West Bank. We extend our condolences to the victim's family. We reaffirm that the use of violence is unacceptable and only serves to exacerbate tensions on the ground.
|
United States – Iraq
The White House accused Tehran of allowing its allies to conduct attacks against the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad as well as the U.S. consulate in Basra last week. Washington warned Iran that it would respond swiftly and decisively in the event of further attacks. Do you have any response?
France condemns all attacks against foreign diplomatic facilities in Iraq and the Iraqi institutions as well as any infringement of Iraq's sovereignty.
|
Iran
Are the French and Europeans running the risk of breaking the law by working on ways to bypass the American sanctions against Iran?
The French and Europeans are acting in strict compliance with their international and European commitments and in accordance with their national laws.
The commitments made within the framework of the Iran nuclear deal brokered in Vienna (JCPOA) were endorsed by the UN Security Council in its resolution 2231 and therefore apply to all member states. The Europeans are continuing to implement their obligations in this regard.
