Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will receive Peter Szijjarto, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, for a working meeting on July 21.

The two ministers will discuss the prospects for strengthening bilateral cooperation, notably in the areas of energy and defense. They will also discuss key international issues, especially Europe's ability to assert itself on the international stage, European defense and the Sahel.

In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, Jean-Yves Le Drian will also underscore France's desire to continue a meaningful dialogue with Hungary in order to help achieve a more united, mutually supportive and sovereign Europe, notably in the health, economic and digital fields. The minister will highlight the importance we attach to the European Union as a community of values, based on respect for the rule of law and fundamental freedoms in all member states.
