Prime Minister François Fillon reaffirms that the government will implement the carbon tax, which is a Grenelle Environment Forum commitment.
At Tuesday morning’s UMP meeting the Prime Minister stated that “every decision taken in the realm of sustainable development must be looked at from the angle of our competitiveness. This applies to the carbon tax. We want the decisions to be taken jointly with the other European countries.”
This is why the government is going to ask the European Commission to speed up finalization of a proposal on harmonizing environmental tax regulations in the European Union./.
