President Sarkozy spoke to his American, British and German counterparts in a teleconference today.

They noted a broad convergence of views:

on the need to adopt sanctions against Iran because of her nuclear proliferation activities;

on the importance of a rapid, serious resumption of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process;

and on the importance of our joint commitment to security and peace in Afghanistan.

They also discussed issues on the G20 agenda, in particular financial regulation and the conditions for stable, sustainable growth./.
