Paris, March 9, 2011
Dear Prime Minister,
I want to congratulate you most sincerely on your appointment as Prime Minister of Ireland and wish you every success in your new office.
Following our meeting in Dublin during my visit in July 2008, I welcome the prospect of working with you very soon on taking up the challenges of globalization and of the economic and financial crisis which Europe must continue to address.
The forthcoming Euro Area and European Union meetings must allow us to make progress together to restore to Europe strong and balanced growth, governance and competitiveness, allowing it to defend its interests and role on the international stage.
I look forward to meeting you in Brussels on Friday for the Extraordinary European Council and the Euro Area States’ summit.
