President Obama has called President Sarkozy to take stock of the situation in Libya.
The two Presidents noted with satisfaction that the operations conducted by the coalition have already made it possible to limit the number of casualties among the civilian population and reduced Colonel Gaddafi’s capacity to use force against his people. They agreed on the necessity of continuing efforts to ensure full implementation of UNSCR 1970 and UNSCR 1973.
Finally, the two Presidents agreed on the practicalities of using NATO’s command structures to support the coalition./.
