President Sarkozy has this evening held a meeting by videoconference with the United States President, the German Chancellor and the British Prime Minister.

The four leaders discussed the issue of Libya and the implementation of UNSCR 1973, the day after the United States handed over leadership of the operations to NATO.

They also expressed their support for the conference to be held in London tomorrow, 29 March, which is due to bring the international community together in support of the political transition in Libya.

Support for the transition process in Egypt and the necessity of relaunching the Israeli-Palestinian negotiation process were also discussed./.
