New daily service between DC and Paris for the A380

Published on June 17, 2011
On June 17, 2011 Ambassador François Delattre congratulated the CEO of Air France KLM Pierre-Henri Gourgeon for the entry into service of the A380 between Paris and Washington.

The Ambassador highlighted the most impressive features of the aircraft, including its low level of carbon emission and its low noise operating system. The A380 is in fact the most environmentally-friendly aircraft with less that 75 grams of CO2 produced per passenger per kilometer and 20 percent less fuel consumption compared with an A330. Despite its size, it is the quietest aircraft of the entire Air France fleet, which is a great attribute for the communities residing nearby airports.

The new daily service makes the capital of the United States the second US destination served by the airline’s super jumbo after New York, which was launched a year ago. Washington DC will be Air France’s fifth A380 destination, the other four currently being New York-JFK, Johannesburg, Tokyo and Montreal.

According to the current schedule, flights depart Paris-Charles de Gaulle at 10:40 and arrive at Washington at 13:00 local time. The return leg departs Washington at 16:25 to reach Paris at 05:45.
