Afghanistan/death of a French soldier

Prime Minister François Fillon was extremely shocked to learn of the death of a soldier from Task Force La Fayette on Saturday, 25 June, in Afghanistan.
During a reconnaissance mission in Kapisa Province, a 1st-Class soldier from the Pamiers 1st Parachute Chasseur Regiment (RCP) was fatally wounded in a clash with insurgents.
The prime minister extends his most sincere condolences to the family and close friends of the soldier who died, and he shares their grief and that of the whole 1st RCP, which has again been plunged into mourning.
In these difficult circumstances, the prime minister wants to pay solemn tribute to the dedication and professionalism of our units tirelessly committed to making Afghanistan safe and secure and to her reconstruction, who every day are working effectively in operations to bring peace./.
