Interview given by the Foreign and European Affairs Ministry Spokesman to “Europe 1”

Paris, November 15, 2011

M. VALERO – Our consular representative in Gaza – whose home was a few hundred metres from where the missiles fired by the Israeli Air Force landed – his wife and their young teenage daughter were slightly wounded in this attack.

Q. – And is it true the wife of the head of the [consular] office suffered a miscarriage?

M. VALERO – That’s correct. Through our ambassador in Israel, we’re going to tell the Israelis, the Israeli authorities, in the strongest terms how upset, how shocked we were by what happened and that we require the Israeli authorities to do everything to ensure that civilians are protected when we find ourselves in this kind of situation again./.
