Inauguration of "La Cité du Vin" in Bordeaux
President Hollande will inaugurate Bordeaux’s new Cité du Vin on May 31. Dedicated to every aspect of viticulture, this new attraction features an international wine museum, a restaurant showcasing the classic fare of southwestern France, and an itinerary culminating in a visit to the 100-foot-high Belvédère, where guests can sample the world’s greatest wines while enjoying a panoramic view of Bordeaux – a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
“Our goal is to tell the story of wine everywhere in the world, which is why each year a different wine-producing country will be the subject of special expositions, lectures, and wine-tastings,” says Sylvie Cazes, president of the museum.
