Letter of congratulations from François Fillon, Prime Minister, to the Prime Minister of Senegal, Abdoul Mbaye

Paris, April 4, 2012

Dear Prime Minister,

It is with great pleasure that, personally and on behalf of the French government, I extend to you my warmest congratulations on your appointment as Prime Minister of Senegal. I wish you every success in this task, entrusted to you by President Macky Sall.

The Senegalese people’s expectations are great. I have no doubt of your government’s determination to take up the many challenges that confront it.

I can tell you that I attach the highest importance to the relationship of friendship and trust uniting our two countries. The close cooperation we have maintained for decades is a precious heritage we must preserve and intensify.

As your mission gets under way, we know that in you we have an attentive partner ready and willing to maintain a permanent and constructive dialogue. Rest assured that Senegal will always find France to be a sincere friend who listens to her concerns.

I assure you of my wholehearted support in carrying out your new office.

(complimentary close)./.
