Statement by Alain Juppé, Ministre d’Etat, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs

Paris, April 14, 2012

The E3+3 group (France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, Russia and China) met in Istanbul today to resume discussions with Iran on that country’s nuclear programme.

The E3+3 have again shown they are united in their determination to conduct a serious dialogue with Iran with the aim of getting that country to address the international community’s concerns about the nature of its programme and to comply fully with its international obligations.

The principle of another meeting was agreed. Future discussions will be important: Iran must urgently take concrete actions to restore trust, in accordance with the resolutions of the UN Security Council and the IAEA concerning that country./.
