President Hollande had a telephone conversation late in the afternoon with Mr Barack Obama, President of the United States.

Following the G8 summit in Camp David and in the run-up to the G20 summit in Mexico, they emphasized the need to increase the stability and governance of the Euro Area and give the European Union a real growth policy.

The Head of State stressed France’s determination to establish with her EU partners a European economic framework based on three pillars: growth and competitiveness, budgetary responsibility and financial stability.

They agreed to work together closely within the G20 for more effective regulation of the global economy to encourage growth and financial stability./.
