French President François Hollande and United States President Barack Obama have spoken today [30 August] about the use of chemical weapons by Bashar al-Assad’s regime on 21 August.
The two heads of state agreed that the international community cannot tolerate the use of chemical weapons and that it must hold the Syrian regime accountable and send a strong message condemning their use.
France and the United States, which are allies and friends, will continue their consultation on Syria and all other issues in which international security is at stake./.
