Central African Republic/Deaths of two French Soldiers
The President was deeply saddened to learn of the deaths in action in Bangui last night of two French soldiers of the 8th Marine Infantry Parachute Regiment, based in Castres. They lost their lives to save many others.
He extends, with emotion, his sincere condolences to their families and close friends and assures them of the nation’s solidarity in these painful circumstances.
The Head of State expresses his profound respect for the sacrifice of these two soldiers and reaffirms his complete confidence in the French forces engaged alongside the African forces to re-establish security in the Central African Republic, protect the people and guarantee access to humanitarian aid./.
