Digital Economy Minister Visits Tech Convention in Las Vegas

Fleur Pellerin Supports French Presence at Consumer Electronics Show (CES)

Ms Fleur Pellerin, Minister delegate for Small and Medium Sized Businesses, Innovation and the Digital Economy was in Las Vegas from January, the 6th until January, the 9th 2014 to support the strong participation of French innovative companies at the annual Consumers Electronic Show (CES).

France has indeed a long history in innovation and more than 90 French corporates and startup exhibitors displayed their new products at the CES 2014. Among the “8 coolest innovations” selected by Wired Magazine (de quelle date?), no less than 4 are French : Aura by Withings, which enhances its owner’s sleep experience, June by Netatmo, which assists in choosing the right solar screen, Mother by Sen.Se and Parrot’s mini UAV.

During the conference, Minister Pellerin, in presence of Pierre Gattaz, head of MEDEF - the largest union of employers in France, informed more than 300 business leaders of the French Tech program, a new €215 million-Government initiative to support and promote innovative and digital ecosystems in France.

During her stay in Las Vegas, Minister Pellerin also held several high level meetings. She met with the Hon. Penny Pritzker, Secretary of Commerce, with whom she discussed different ways to enhance bilateral cooperation. She also had meetings with the CEOs of several innovative companies, such as Netflix or Good Technology, and with Fred Mossler, Cofounder of Zappos, who showed her his Downtown Project).
