70th anniversary of the Normandy Landings

Consul general of France Graham Paul presents French Legion of Honor to D-Day Veteran James Reid. Mr. Reid landed on Utah Beach on June 7, 1944. More than 350 people attended the event including over 20 veterans who fought in France during WWII.
Sand ceremony. Sand from Omaha Beach deposited by 4 D-Day veterans at the base of the monument called “The Spirit of American Youth Rising from The Seas” by Donald De Lue, sculptor. The monument at Cantigny is a half-scale replica of the monument that stands at the Omaha Beach Memorial, Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, Colleville-sur-Mer, France. Both original and the replica at Cantigny are gifts from the people of France.
