The President spoke to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom about the situation in Iraq.
They noted their very similar analysis of the situation on the ground, which demands an extremely swift response, even though the IS [Islamic State] is contained in certain regions. They have coordinated their efforts on two fronts: delivery of humanitarian aid and assistance to the people in danger; supply of weapons to the combatants who have expressed the need for them.
Each of the two countries will take complementary measures in these two areas without delay, pending the mobilization of other partners, particularly in the EU framework.
The President and Prime Minister also agreed to work closely together on measures to be taken over the medium and longer term in Iraq./.
