The President spoke to President Obama, Chancellor Merkel and Prime Ministers Cameron and Renzi this afternoon about the Ebola virus epidemic, the fight against Daesh [ISIL] in Iraq and Syria and the situation in Ukraine.
As regards the Ebola epidemic, all the leaders expressed their solidarity with the countries affected and called on the international community and European Union to mobilize, in close coordination with the United Nations, the WHO and the countries concerned.
The President announced that France will agree to Guinea’s request for new anti-Ebola treatment centres to be built in addition to the one currently being constructed in Macenta, in Guinea’s forest area. He announced the deployment of civil protection personnel to carry out training for the Guinean authorities.
François Hollande added that France is to establish a system of checks when planes arrive from the region affected by the virus. (…)./.
