M. Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, responsible for the promotion of tourism, hosted a meeting with the Chairman of Accor, M. Sébastien Bazin, and the Chairman of Huazhu, Mr Ji Qi, on the occasion of the announcement of the agreement on a strategic alliance between the two hotel groups.
The two groups are joining forces in China, the world’s leading travel market, to create a network of 2,000 hotels. At international level, they are sharing a mailing list of 47 million priority clients, to whom they will provide access to 5,600 hotels. Laurent Fabius congratulated them on this mutually beneficial agreement, which illustrates the increasingly strong economic partnership between China and France and the development of new markets, particularly in tourism, a sector with a great future. The agreement between Huazhu and Accor, which is focused on the Chinese market and opens up global prospects, is a fine example of this./.
