Nigeria – Attacks and mass kidnappings (14 December 2014)

France condemns the attacks carried out by the terrorist group Boko Haram in the village of Gumsuri in Borno State (in northeastern Nigeria), during which 32 people were killed and 185 others were kidnapped.

We assure the families affected and the Nigerian authorities of our solidarity. Those responsible for these acts must be brought to justice.

As with respect to the schoolgirls who were kidnapped in Chibok on 14 April and who remain captive, everything possible must be done to obtain the release of the victims of this kidnapping, most of whom are women and children.

Together with its international and African partners, France stands alongside Nigeria in the fight against terrorism and supports the regional coordination efforts. (…)./.
