The French President was saddened to learn of the death of Richard von Weizsäcker, former President of Germany.
Through his personal history, political commitment and moral stature, Richard von Weizsäcker was a witness and an actor of his century. He profoundly influenced his country’s history. With his passing, a moral and political role model has been lost, and we shall keep him in our memories.
The French President extends his very deep and sincere condolences to Richard von Weizsäcker’s family and friends and shares the German people’s great sadness./.
