Egypt/conversation between M. François Hollande, President of the Republic, and his Egyptian counterpart
The French President has spoken on the telephone to his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, and reiterated to him his solidarity following the murder of 21 Egyptian nationals in Libya.
The two heads of state discussed the situation in Libya and the expansion of operations by Daesh [ISIL] to the country. They emphasized how important it is for the Security Council to meet and for the international community to take new measures to confront the danger.
They expressed their determination to work for peace and security in the region, and agreed to continue their consultations to that end.
They stressed that today’s signature in Cairo of a bilateral agreement on the supply of Rafale planes is testimony to the trust existing between France and Egypt./.
