Communiqué issued by the Presidency of the Republic

Paris, April 30, 2015

The French President spoke yesterday to Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Amir of Qatar, who confirmed to him that he would like his country to acquire 24 Rafale fighter planes.

At Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani’s invitation, the President will go to Doha on 4 May to attend the signature of the contracts between the companies Dassault Aviation and MBDA, on the one hand, and the State of Qatar, on the other, and of the intergovernmental agreement that will provide a framework for cooperation between our two countries.
With this new export success, the Rafale plane has confirmed its qualities, tested in the French air force and navy.

For the authorities, which have been committed to it for the past three years in support of our industry, the contract – which follows those agreed with Egypt and India – is also a source of great satisfaction./.
