Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf/Syria
Riyadh, May 5, 2015
The heads of state of the CCASG and the French Republic discussed measures likely to restore regional stability, and they call on the international community to:
support efforts to end the suffering of the Syrian people by implementing without delay a political transition process in conformity with the Geneva I principles and providing the Syrian people with assistance to cope with the violence which Bashar al-Assad’s regime and Daesh [ISIL] are committing, and translate into action the Syrian people’s aspirations to a united, democratic and independent Syria, respectful of human rights and the diverse communities.
