Riyadh, May 5, 2015

The heads of state of the CCASG and the French Republic discussed measures likely to restore regional stability, and they call on the international community to:

support the efforts of Yemen’s legitimate government to conduct a comprehensive political process and restore peace to the country, in consultation with the CCASG, the UN and the Friends of Yemen. They lend their full support to the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Yemen, Mr Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, in his efforts as mediator between the Yemeni parties. They call for a peaceful political transition phase to be prepared in line with the CCASG countries’ initiative and its executive mechanism, with the conclusions of national dialogue, with the complete and precise implementation of international Security Council Resolution 2216 (2015) and with the [other] relevant Security Council resolutions.
