President François Hollande, Chancellor Angela Merkel and President Petro Poroshenko had a telephone conversation today.
Their discussion concerned the state of implementation of the Package of Measures adopted in Minsk.
The three heads of state or government agreed that efforts must be redoubled to fully implement the ceasefire and the withdrawal of heavy weapons.
President Poroshenko reaffirmed his desire to achieve de-escalation around Shyrokyne and an agreement on the withdrawal of weapons with a calibre of less than 100mm. He expressed his proposals on these two issues, which were approved by President Hollande and Chancellor Merkel.
The French President and the German Chancellor congratulated President Poroshenko on the launch of constitutional reform, which must lead to a decentralization of Ukraine, in accordance with the Package of Measures adopted in Minsk, with particular emphasis on the special status of certain areas in the regions of Donetsk and Luhansk in the draft constitution./.
