Syria/Daesh/migration/telephone conversation between M. François Hollande, President of the Republic, and the British Prime Minister
The French President had a telephone conversation with British Prime Minister David Cameron. They talked about Syria and stepping up France and the United Kingdom’s efforts to coordinate their fight against Daesh [ISIL] and work in parallel for an orderly political transition.
The two leaders also exchanged their views about Europe’s response to the influx of refugees. The President signalled France’s commitment to take in 24,000 more refugees over the next two years, and emphasized the need to equip Europe with a permanent, compulsory mechanism to ensure a fair distribution between member states.
